A person named Paramjit Singh, also known as Dhadi, was arrested at Amritsar airport in Bharat. He is linked to the banned terrorist group International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF), led by Lakhbir Singh Rode. The arrest was considered a significant achievement by the Amritsar Special Operations Cell (SSOC) as Paramjit Singh was allegedly involved in activities like terror funding in the Punjab region.
The Director General of Police in Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, shared this news on social media, emphasizing that the Punjab Police is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the state. The investigation is ongoing to uncover and expose the terrorist network, aiming to counter any attempts to disturb peace in the region. The arrest is seen as a major setback to a terror module operating in Punjab.
Simultaneously, it was reported that Lakhbir Singh Rode, the chief of ISYF based in Pakistan, and also associated with Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), passed away in Pakistan. Rode was a wanted individual in Bharat and the nephew of the late Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Rode had planned and executed various terror activities in Punjab, including a bombing in Ludhiana in December 2021. The NIA charge sheet also revealed his involvement in recruiting operatives and smuggling Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) with the help of Pakistan-based smugglers.
In summary, the arrest of Paramjit Singh alias Dhadi is a significant development in curbing terror-related activities in Punjab, while the death of Lakhbir Singh Rode, the chief of ISYF, is noted alongside his involvement in planning and executing terror acts in Bharat.
