Taylor Swift has been named the Person of the Year by ‘Time Magazine’ followed by an interview giving insight into her ever-flamboyant life and its events. The singer told Time, that this was the ‘proudest and happiest’ she had ever been. Swift earned the accolade after launching recod breaking gloabl tour and becoming the most streamed music artist of 2023 across all platforms.
Though already a star, Swift’s career took new heights after the culmination of the Eras tour which saw the singer perform a career-spanning 45-song set every night. When the tour began in the summer, ticketless fans gathered in car parks just to hear the music. In Seattle, her concerts generated seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. “It feels like the breakthrough moment of my career, happening at 33,” she told Time. “And for the first time in my life, I was mentally tough enough to take what comes with that.”
The 33-year-old artist spent the year traveling the world on her “Eras Tour,” showcasing music from her entire career, smashing records for ticket sales, and boosting the economies of every city she visited.
According to Billboard, Swift’s “Eras Tour,” which will continue in 2024 across Asia, Australia, Europe, and the U.S., is on track to become the highest-grossing tour in world history. It made about $900 million of revenue in 2023, and pulls in about $14 million per show, it reported.
Earlier this week, Swift was named the world’s fifth most powerful woman behind top political stalwarts such as European European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris. The magazine reported that Swift’s tour made her a billionaire in October.
