According to the provided data, Canada reported 91 student deaths, followed by the United Kingdom (48), Russia (40), the United States (36), Australia (35), Ukraine (21), Germany (20), Cyprus (14), Italy, and the Philippines (10 each). Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, affirmed that ensuring the safety and security of Bharat students abroad remains a top priority for the Bharat government. Bharat missions and posts actively monitor the well-being of students, and in case of any unfortunate incidents, they promptly engage with host country authorities to ensure proper investigations and accountability.
Consular Assistance and Immediate Response
In instances of distress, Bharat students are provided comprehensive consular assistance, including emergency medical care, and accommodation if necessary. The government stressed its commitment to swift action and justice, reassuring families that their concerns are addressed. The spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry, Arindam Bagchi, acknowledged the increasing number of Bharat students going abroad and assured that individual incidents, including cases of foul play, are actively addressed through consular efforts and engagement with local authorities.
