In Karnataka and Maharashtra, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently made arrests related to an ISIS terror conspiracy case. On Saturday, they detained at least 13 people during raids. Pune saw arrests, and ongoing operations are happening at more than 40 locations across both states.
The anti-terror agency, NIA, conducted searches at various places— one in Karnataka, two in Pune, nine in Thane city, one in Bhayandar, and 31 in Thane Rural. The raids are part of the broader effort to address the ISIS-related activities in the region.
Earlier in July, the NIA had already made some arrests in connection with the same case. Individuals like Tabish Nasser Siddiqui, Zubair Noor Mohammed Shaikh (also known as Abu Nusaiba), Sharjeel Shaikh, Zulfikar Ali Barodawala, and Dr. Adnan Sarkar were detained from Mumbai, Pune, and Thane.
The situation suggests a coordinated effort by the NIA to dismantle alleged ISIS-linked activities and networks in the mentioned areas, with multiple arrests made and ongoing investigations at various locations.
