Shoaib Akhtar Applauds Rising UAE Cricket Stars Ahead of ILT20

The UAE Under-19 cricket team pulled off an exciting two-wicket victory against Sri Lanka Under-19 in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup U19 match at the ICC Academy Oval. Adding to their joy, the young players received a surprise visit from the legendary Pakistani fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, right after their impressive win.

Shoaib Akhtar, known as the fastest bowler in cricket history, visited the ICC Academy Oval during his special trip to Dubai. Recently signed as the League Ambassador for Season 2 of the DP World ILT20, Shoaib took the time to congratulate the UAE boys on their thrilling performance. He praised their team spirit and camaraderie, emphasizing the importance of hard work, determination, and a never-give-up attitude for achieving success at the international level.

In a media interaction, Shoaib Akhtar discussed the contributions of DP World ILT20 to cricket in the UAE and shared his thoughts on the future of the game in the country. He commended the Emirates Cricket Board for its stellar work in recent years and expressed his excitement about joining as the League Ambassador for DP World ILT20.

Shoaib highlighted the impressive performance of the UAE’s young cricket talents and was thrilled to witness their passion for the game. He emphasized the significance of overcoming a formidable opponent and holding their nerve in the crucial stages of the match. Shoaib also urged cricket fans in the UAE and around the world to support the DP World ILT20, describing it as one of the top leagues globally that will continue to grow in stature in the coming years. He eagerly anticipated Season 2 and encouraged fans to attend matches in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah for some great on-field entertainment.
