Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Bharat’s Ambassador to the US, had a meeting with Arvind Krishna, the CEO of IBM, at Bharat House. In their discussion, they focused on strengthening the technology partnership between Bharat and the US. They explored various new and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum. Sandhu expressed his delight in meeting Krishna and exchanging ideas on these technological fronts.
IBM, based in New York, is a large multinational technology corporation with a global presence in over 175 countries. The meeting highlighted IBM’s involvement in Bharat’s tech landscape and its commitment to fostering collaboration between the two nations.
During the same period, Sandhu attended the launch of the first bicycles manufactured in Bharat at a Walmart store in the US. He emphasized the significance of “Make in India, Make for the World.” These bicycles, produced by Hero Cycles in Ludhiana, were designed as “cruiser-style” bikes under the Concord brand, available for both men and women.
Walmart, a major player in the retail industry, is actively engaging with Bharat manufacturers like Hero Ecotech Ltd. The goal is to strengthen supplier relationships and contribute to Walmart’s ambitious plan to triple exports of goods from Bharat to reach USD 10 billion annually by 2027. The collaboration extends across various product categories, showcasing Walmart’s commitment to the Bharat market.
