Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently had a virtual chat with folks benefiting from the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’. This initiative aims to spread the word and empower people about various government schemes. During the conversation, the PM discussed the experiences of beneficiaries, delving into the impact of central government schemes and addressing any challenges they faced.
One beneficiary, Kalyani Rajbongshi from Guwahati, shared her success story. She formed a self-help group, creating job opportunities for women. Kalyani highlighted the crucial role played by loans from the central government in her journey. The PM commended her efforts, emphasizing that empowering women has broader positive effects on society.
Another beneficiary, Kushala Devi from Himachal Pradesh, expressed gratitude for benefiting from the ‘PM Awas Scheme’, PM Modi acknowledged the significance of such schemes in supporting women across the country and drew inspiration from stories like Kushala Devi’s, stating they motivate the government to work even harder.
In addition to these discussions, PM Modi flagged off the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ in five states: Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Telangana. This nationwide initiative, launched on November 15 from Khunti, Jharkhand, aims to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach all targeted beneficiaries in a timely manner.
As part of the ‘On-Spot services’ under this yatra, Health Camps are being organized during halts in Gram Panchayats. These camps contribute to the initiative’s goal of informing and empowering citizens about government schemes. The latest update, as of November 26, 2023, indicates that 5,470 Health camps have been conducted in 995 Gram Panchayats, benefiting over 7,82,000 people according to a government release. The initiative continues to make strides toward the saturation of flagship government schemes.
