In Guwahati’s Fatasil Ambari area, a leopard created quite a stir on Tuesday, leaving three people injured, including two forest staff members. The incident occurred when the leopard ventured into a building that was still under construction and attacked a local youth.
The situation escalated when a team from the forest department arrived at the scene to capture the leopard. Unfortunately, the big cat retaliated and ended up injuring two forest personnel during the rescue attempt. Despite the chaos, the good news is that all three individuals, including the local youth and the forest staff, are safe.
The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Kamrup East Division, Rohini Saikia, provided some reassurance, mentioning that they had successfully tranquilized the leopard. The team managed to rescue the leopard safely after the tranquilization process, preventing any further harm. The DFO confirmed this information in a phone conversation with ANI (Asian News International).
Following the incident, the injured individuals were promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention. They are reported to be in stable condition now. The successful rescue mission ensures the well-being of both the people involved and the leopard, highlighting the importance of swift and effective response in such wildlife encounters.
