In a recent statement, Numal Momin, Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly and senior BJP leader, expressed strong views against the INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties. Momin accused the alliance of having corrupt intentions, claiming that their primary goal is to form a government at the Centre for the purpose of corruption.
Highlighting the alleged corruption within the coalition, Momin pointed to a significant amount of money recovered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from the premises of Congress MP Dhiraj Prasad Sahu. He contrasted this with the BJP’s focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas,’ emphasizing inclusive development as the centerpiece of governance.
Momin also discussed the potential Prime Ministerial candidate from the INDIA bloc, mentioning hearsay about Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge being proposed. However, he indicated that comments from other coalition partners are awaited before forming a concrete opinion.
The BJP leader criticized the ideological diversity within the INDIA Alliance, claiming it lacks a unified vision and goal. He asserted that their sole motive is to defeat Prime Minister Modi, without a clear plan for the nation’s progress.
Praising the Modi-led central government, Momin highlighted India’s economic improvement from the 10th to the 5th position over the past decade. He dismissed opposition criticism, labeling it as jealousy towards the Prime Minister’s functioning and work culture.
Momin predicted the downfall of the INDIA bloc during seat-sharing discussions, citing potential friction between large and small partners. He doubted the longevity of the coalition, especially if Congress does not agree to contest a limited number of seats.
Anticipating the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Momin confidently claimed that Congress’s seat count would drop below 40 due to their behavior and attempts to malign Prime Minister Modi. He expressed the belief that the people of India would favor the BJP for its commitment to development and the welfare of the poor.
The BJP leader also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his actions, specifically filming the mimicry of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar by TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee. Momin deemed this behavior shameful and accused Rahul Gandhi of encouraging activities unbecoming of a parliamentarian.
In conclusion, Momin declared that the alleged “evil design” of Congress has been exposed, accusing them of avoiding debates with the BJP and making a mockery of democracy. He confidently predicted a strong electoral response from the people in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in favor of the BJP.
