In a significant development highlighting the strengthening of Bharat’s healthcare infrastructure, the country has reached a commendable milestone during the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. Official reports reveal that a staggering 1,02,23,619 Ayushman cards have been created through the Ayushman app, promoting healthcare excellence across the nation.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has witnessed a cumulative footfall of 1,31,66,365 individuals participating in 79,487 health camps conducted in 3,462 Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies. The initiative aims to provide essential healthcare services to diverse communities.
Under the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ayushman cards are being generated, with more than 23,83,473 physical cards already distributed to beneficiaries. The process involves using the Ayushman app and physical card distribution, reaching a total of 6,34,168 Ayushman cards created during the health camps held recently.
In a parallel effort, the screening of patients for Tuberculosis (TB) has been a priority, involving symptom screening, sputum testing, and utilizing NAAT machines where available. The initiative has successfully screened over 49,17,356 people, with more than 3,41,499 individuals referred to higher Public Health Facilities for suspected TB cases.
Under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMA), consent is sought for TB patients to receive assistance from Nikshay Mitras. Impressively, over 1,17,734 patients have given consent, and more than 39,819 new Nikshay Mitras have been registered, enhancing the reach of TB healthcare services.
Additionally, the Nikshay Poshan Yojana (NPY) is providing monetary assistance to TB patients through Direct Benefit Transfer. Details of 30,093 beneficiaries have been collected, with efforts to Aadhaar seed bank accounts for efficient fund transfer.
In areas with a predominantly tribal population, screening for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is being conducted for eligible individuals up to 40 years of age. Over 5,08,701 people have been screened, with 21,793 identified as positive and referred to higher public health facilities for management.
Furthermore, screening for Hypertension and Diabetes among the population aged 30 years and above is actively underway. A remarkable 10,297,809 individuals have been screened, identifying more than 4,82,667 cases of suspected Hypertension and more than 3,45,898 cases of suspected Diabetes. Subsequently, more than 7,59,451 people have been referred to higher public health facilities for further assessment and care.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, launched by the Prime Minister on November 15 from Khunti, Jharkhand, aims to saturate the benefits of central government healthcare schemes across the nation. As part of on-spot services under the Yatra, Health Camps are being organized at the places of halt for the IEC Van in the Gram Panchayats, ensuring direct accessibility to healthcare services for communities nationwide.
