In a concerning development, defense sources reveal that Pakistan is making efforts to revive terrorism in the Rajouri-Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Approximately 25-30 Pakistani terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the forest areas of the region, posing a potential threat to security.
According to reliable sources, this sinister plan is part of a larger strategy orchestrated by Pakistan and China. The goal is to exert pressure on the Indian Army, compelling them to withdraw troops from the Ladakh sector and redeploy them in the Rajouri-Poonch area.
Insiders suggest that the Pakistan-China nexus aims to prevent India from easing its presence in Jammu and Kashmir and redirecting troops to the Ladakh sector. This move comes amid the prolonged standoff between the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Indian forces in Ladakh over the past three years.
Notably, in 2020, Bharat strategically shifted the Uniform Force of Rashtriya Rifles from the Poonch sector to Ladakh to counter Chinese aggression. This maneuver was part of a larger effort to balance forces and pressure the PLA to match Indian strength.
Recent intelligence reports indicate that 25-30 Pakistani terrorists are currently hiding in the upper reaches of the Poonch-Rajouri sector within dense forested areas. Their mission is to launch attacks on security forces, with the ultimate goal of forcing India to redeploy its troops in the region.
Since the relocation of the Uniform Force to Ladakh, Pakistan has been sending its own terrorists from across the border to the area. Their intent is clear – to carry out attacks against Indian troops and create a situation that demands the redeployment of Indian forces.
In response to the escalating threat, the Bharatiye Army has taken proactive measures, moving in an additional brigade to counter terrorist activities in the region. Despite the challenges, security forces have reported success in their efforts to neutralize the growing threat posed by these infiltrating terrorists.
However, the situation remains tense, as highlighted by a recent incident on Thursday evening. Heavily armed terrorists ambushed two Army vehicles in the forest area of Dera ki Gali in the Rajouri district, resulting in the tragic loss of four Army personnel and injuries to three others. The attack serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing security challenges faced by Indian forces in the region.
