In a first, a Hindu Woman from pakistan’s Khybar Pankhtunkhwa region Dr Saveera Parkash, , has filed her nomination papers for a general seat in the upcoming general elections in the country. Parkash is hopeful of contesting the elections on a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) ticket. Her father, Oam Parkash, a retired doctor, had been an active member of the party for the past 35 years.
A local leader Saleem Khan who is associated with Quami Watan Party, informed that Parkash was the first woman from Buner to file her nomination papers for the forthcoming general seat election. Saveera Parkash is a graduate from Abottabad International Medical College in 2022, holds the position of general secretary in the PPP women’s wing in Buner.
In an interview, Parkash told reporters that she wants to follow in the footstepsof her father who had given his life to serve the poor of the region. She informed that she had filed her nomination papers on December 2023.
