In a recent incident near the Israel Embassy in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, the police are diligently sifting through footage from more than 100 CCTV cameras to identify suspects involved in what was initially reported as a blast. The focus of the investigation lies in mapping the route taken by the individuals spotted walking on the road close to the incident site just before the alleged explosion.
Additionally, authorities are analyzing dump data from the area to identify active phone numbers during the period in question. Approximately five thousand phone numbers are under scrutiny as the police work to gather more information related to the incident.
On Tuesday, the Delhi Police responded to a call reporting a blast near the Israel Embassy. However, upon inspection, officials found no evidence of an actual explosion at the location. Further complicating the situation, a letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador was discovered near the embassy in connection with the reported blast.
The letter, written in English, contains threatening language, and it mentions a group named “Sir Allah Resistance.” The police are currently examining the contents of the letter and have not yet disclosed specific details regarding its contents.
The call reporting the blast was received by the Delhi Fire Services at approximately 6 pm, prompting the immediate response of the Delhi Police crime unit, fire services, and bomb disposal squad. Experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also arrived at the scene to aid in the investigation.
Eyewitnesses, including a security guard near the embassy, reported hearing a loud noise around 5 pm, resembling a tire burst, and observed smoke near a tree. However, conflicting reports from the special cell state that no blast occurred in the area.
In response to the incident, security measures in the vicinity have been heightened, with increased police presence and monitoring through CCTV cameras. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to unravel the details surrounding the reported blast near the Israel Embassy in Delhi.
