External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, currently on a visit to Russia, expressed his joy at visiting a school named after Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in St. Petersburg. Jaishankar highlighted Tagore’s deep love for Bharat, calling it truly heart-touching. The minister shared his experience on social media, stating, “It was a great pleasure to visit the school named after Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Ji, #653 in St. Petersburg. His love for India was truly heart touching.” He also emphasized the moving passion the school displayed for India.
During his visit, Jaishankar shared a video giving a glimpse of the warm welcome he received from students. The students, dressed up for the occasion, waved both Bharat and Russian flags, greeted the minister with sweets, and presented a beautiful dance performance. Subsequently, Jaishankar addressed the students and others present at the school.
Jaishankar’s Russia visit, scheduled from December 25 to 29, is part of the ongoing high-level exchanges between India and Russia. In a round table conference with Indologists in St. Petersburg, he advocated for shaping international relations with Indian characteristics. The minister emphasized the importance of understanding each other directly in today’s geopolitical landscape.
President Vladimir Putin extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Russia next year. During a meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at the Kremlin, Putin expressed, “We will be glad to see our friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Russia.” The invitation further strengthens the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
