She is the first woman to hold this position, marking a significant milestone in the Indian Police Service. Currently serving as the Special Director General of CISF, Singh oversees the security management of airports, Delhi Metro, government buildings, and strategic installations across the nation.
Singh took on the additional charge of CISF DG following the retirement of Sheel Vardhan Singh on August 31. Originally from the Manipur cadre, she later shifted to the Rajasthan cadre. Her tenure as the CISF chief will extend until her retirement on July 31, 2024.
Rahul Rasgotra Appointed as ITBP Chief
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has given its approval for the appointment of Rahul Rasgotra, a 1989-batch IPS officer and a special director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), as the chief of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Rasgotra, who brings nearly three decades of experience in the IB, is set to lead the paramilitary force until September 30, 2025.
This appointment comes at a crucial time for the ITBP, as it will benefit from an additional team of intelligence officers dedicated to surveillance and intelligence gathering.
Anish Dayal Singh Takes Charge of CRPF
Anish Dayal Singh, a 1988-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Singh, who has been holding the post of CRPF DG as an additional charge in recent weeks, in addition to heading the ITBP, will lead the CRPF until his superannuation on December 31, 2024.
