Israeli soldiers from the 5th Brigade’s combat team uncovered a tunnel shaft inside a school in Khirbet Ahza, southern Gaza. The forces discovered alarming evidence, including photos of weapons designed for children. Images released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) displayed mortars, grenades, and bullets found within the school premises.
Military Operations Uncover Additional Threats
The operation in Khirbet Ahza extended to raids on Hamas observation posts and positions where terror squads fired anti-tank rockets. In Khan Yunis, ground forces thwarted a terror squad attempting to attach a bomb to a tank through an airstrike. Weapons and a safe containing large sums of money were seized from a Hamas Nukhba unit member’s home.
Israeli Strikes Target Terror Infrastructure
An Israeli fighter jet carried out an airstrike on a munitions production complex belonging to Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Khan Yunis. In Tupah, northern Gaza, soldiers successfully eliminated a terror squad operating aerial drones to observe Israeli forces.
Causalities and Captives in Recent Conflict
The recent wave of violence between Israel and Hamas near the Gaza border resulted in at least 1,200 casualties from Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities on Oct. 7. The number of people held captive by Hamas is estimated to be 129, including men, women, children, soldiers, and foreigners. Authorities are working to identify bodies and search for human remains to account for those still unlocated.
