Delhi’s Coldest Day and Impact on Surrounding Areas

Night Shelters Provide Relief
Amid the harsh cold, night shelters in Delhi are offering refuge to the homeless, providing essential amenities such as blankets, beds, hot water, and food. These shelters play a crucial role in assisting those who have nowhere else to go during the freezing nights.
School Vacations Extended
Concerned about the extreme cold wave, the Delhi Government’s Directorate of Education initially extended the winter vacation for all government, government-aided, and unaided recognized private schools until January 10. However, the decision was later retracted. The move was in response to the severe weather conditions and the Meteorological Department’s yellow alert.
