In a significant development at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar engaged in discussions with a Japanese delegation in Gandhinagar on Thursday. The summit, which commenced with grandeur on Wednesday, witnessed substantial investment proposals from both Bharat and international companies.
The high-profile investment commitments included major players like Adani Group, Reliance Industries, Tata Group from India, and global giants such as DP World. The summit, in its 10th edition, is scheduled from January 10 to 12 in Gandhinagar, with the overarching theme ‘Gateway to the Future.’
Global Participation and Diverse Events
This year’s Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit boasts participation from 34 partner countries and 16 partner organizations. The event features a diverse range of activities, including seminars and conferences covering globally relevant topics such as Industry 4.0, Technology and Innovation, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and the Transition towards Sustainability.
Chief Minister Patel’s Vision for Gujarat’s Technological Future
During the summit, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel addressed the audience, emphasizing the escalating role of technology in India, particularly in the semiconductor and electronic sectors. He proudly announced Gujarat as the first state in India to unveil plans for developing a semiconductor industry.
Patel highlighted Gujarat’s proactive approach in embracing advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI). He showcased the state’s commitment by swiftly allocating land to Micron in Sanand, emphasizing Gujarat’s dedication to fostering the semiconductor sector.
Gujarat’s Aspiration to Lead in Semiconductors
“We are committed to encouraging and promoting the semiconductor sector. Within a week, we allocated the land to Micron in Sanand, presenting an example of this commitment. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Gujarat is ready to be the semiconductor hub of the country to make the semiconductor programme in India successful,” stated Chief Minister Patel.
Expressing Gujarat’s ambition, Patel aims to position the state as a leading center for semiconductors, drawing parallels with the state’s successful track record in various industries. Gujarat’s dedication to becoming a semiconductor hub aligns with the broader goals of technological advancement and industrial leadership in the region.
