In a momentous occasion for Ayodhya, the Chief Priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Acharya Satyendra Das, announced that the consecration ceremony, known as ‘Pran Pratishtha,’ for placing the idol of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple, will take place on January 22. The Chief Priest expressed overwhelming joy at the magnitude and beauty of the temple, stating that they never anticipated such a grand structure. He confidently declared, “Ram Rajya is coming,” referring to the ideal governance where everyone is happy.
Reflecting on the journey of the Ram Lalla idol, Acharya Das recalled its appearance on December 23, 1949, in the disputed land. Following court orders, people began worshiping the idol. The priest, who assumed his role on March 1, 1992, recounted the challenging times, including the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992. After these incidents, Ram Lalla was temporarily moved to a tent. Today, he expressed happiness that the long-anticipated Ram Temple is finally being built.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony is a significant part of this historic event, with Vedic rituals scheduled to commence on January 16, a week before the main ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to attend the installation of the idol on January 22, emphasizing the national importance of the event.
Varanasi priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit will conduct the main rituals during the consecration ceremony. Ayodhya will observe the Amrit Mahotsav from January 14 to January 22, marking this period with various events and festivities. Additionally, a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya is planned, aiming to feed thousands of devotees. In anticipation of a massive influx of devotees, several tent cities are being erected in Ayodhya to accommodate the expected 10,000-15,000 people, as per the arrangements made by the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust.
As the nation eagerly awaits this historic moment, the consecration ceremony on January 22 is set to be a grand celebration, marking the realization of a longstanding dream for many devotees and supporters of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
