Slogans supporting Sikh extremism surfaced in parts of Delhi ahead of Sikh terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s threats for Republic Day. Slogans vying for separate nation for Sikhs were seen on the walls of Chander Vihar area of Outer Delhi.
The Delhi Police have removed the slogans and filed a case in this matter.
Gurwatpant Singh Pannun, the American-Canadian citizen, who has time and again threatened Bharat’s security and lead out multiple anti-bharat activities, according to the US was a subject of an assassination bid orchestrated by Nikhil Gupta, an Indian national and an un-named Indian government official.
Pannun had threatened to hamper the Ram Temple consecration ceremony of Ayodhya due on January 22. The upcoming consecration ceremony is a much awaited event which will be attended by multiple dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pannu in the past had also threatened to attack the new Parliament building. In the aftermath two men attacked the parliament with smoke bombs during Lok Sabha proceedings in a major security breach.
However, the police found no connection between the Parliament incident and Pannun’s threat.
Pannu, the founder of group called Sikhs for Justice, which advocates for an independent state for Sikhs, also threatened to kill Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Pannun was declared an “individual terrorist” under the Unlawful activities Prevention Act in 2020.
