In a significant move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Thriprayar Shree Ramaswamy Temple in Kerala’s Thrissur on Wednesday, offering prayers at the prominent temple dedicated to Lord Ram. The visit gains significance as it comes close to the highly anticipated ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The Triprayar temple holds Lord Ram as its main deity, depicted in the Chaturbhuja Vishnu form with four arms and carrying symbolic items like a conch, disc, bow, and garland.
The Triprayar Thevar is believed to embody both Shaiva and Vaishnava aspects, with the deity known as Khara Samhara Moorthy after defeating the asura Khara. The image is considered a manifestation of the Trimoorthis, encompassing aspects of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. The temple’s sanctum also features images of Sreedevi and Bhudevi on either side, creating a unique spiritual atmosphere.
Prior to this visit, the Prime Minister marked darshan at the Guruvayur Sree Krishnaswamy Temple in Thrissur earlier in the day. Dedicated to Lord Guruvayurappan (Lord Krishna), the Guruvayur temple is a significant place of worship for Hindus in Kerala.
PM Modi’s two-day visit to Kerala includes a grand roadshow in Kochi, where he was warmly welcomed by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, MoS V Muraleedharan, and BJP leader Prakash Javadekar at the Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery. The roadshow, attended by thousands of supporters, showcased the strong support for the Prime Minister.
During this visit, PM Modi is set to inaugurate three major infrastructure projects collectively worth over Rs. 4,000 crores. These projects include the New Dry Dock (NDD) at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), the International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF) of CSL, and the LPG Import Terminal of Indian Oil Corporation Limited at Puthuvypeen, Kochi. The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the commissioning of these projects will significantly boost the nation’s shipbuilding and repair capacities, as well as contribute to the growth of energy infrastructure and ancillary industries.
This marks the second visit of Prime Minister Modi to Kerala in just two weeks, emphasizing the government’s focus on development and strengthening ties with the people of the state.
