In a recent announcement, former Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav, stated that he will not be attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 22, and Yadav did not provide a specific reason for his decision. The Pran Pratishta ceremony is expected to draw the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with various other leaders and celebrities.
Sharad Pawar Declines Invitation to Ram Lalla’s Pran Pratishtha Ceremony
Joining Lalu Prasad Yadav in declining the invitation is Sharad Pawar, the supremo of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Pawar expressed his gratitude for the invitation in a letter addressed to Champat Rai, the General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. However, Pawar mentioned that he will visit for darshan after the ceremony and once the construction of the temple is complete. In his letter, Pawar acknowledged the excitement among devotees across the country and termed ‘Maryada Purushottam Sri Ram’ as a symbol of worship and devotion for millions of Bharatiyas.
Opposition Leaders Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge Also Decline Invitation
Apart from Lalu Prasad Yadav and Sharad Pawar, leaders from the opposition, including Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, have also turned down the invitation to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. The event is expected to witness the participation of numerous leaders, both from the ruling party and the opposition, as well as prominent personalities from various fields.
Pawar’s Plans for a Post-Ceremony Visit to Ayodhya
Sharad Pawar, in his letter, conveyed his intentions to visit the temple during a scheduled trip to Ayodhya after January 22. He expressed confidence that by then, the construction of the temple would be completed. Pawar acknowledged the significance of the historic celebrations surrounding the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and mentioned that the joy of these celebrations would reach him through the devotees participating in the event.
As the date of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony approaches, the guest list continues to evolve, with some leaders opting to attend after the event or once the temple construction is finished.
