With just a few days to go for the Lord Ram Temple consecration ceremony, the 7-day series of rituals ahead of the Pran Pratishtha is going on in full swing. In temples across the country, mini-celebrations and rituals have also been initiated to mark January 22, the historic day when the consecration ceremony will take place. However, while people around Bharat are busy celebrating, the members of the INDI Alliance have left no stone unturned in demeaning Lord Ram. While Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called the mega event a “political function”, Karnataka Minister KN Rajanna compared idols of Lord Ram to a “doll”.
Counter-attacking Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, Union Minister of State, Rajeev Chandrasekhar advised Rahul Gandhi to not attempt to define Hindu beliefs because the people are well aware of the faith and beliefs, and do not require the Congress leader to interpret them.
Chandrasekhar further stated that the Congress leader lives in his own “la-la world”, adding that if Gandhi attempts to define Hindu beliefs, he would be extremely “unsuccessful”. Chandrasekhar was responding to remarks made by Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, where he targetted the BJP terming Ram Temple consecration merely a “political function”. Slamming Gandhi’s views, MoS Chandrasekhar said that the Congress leader must not believe that he would get away with such “atrocious lies”.
It must be noted that Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have declined the invitation to January 22’s consecration ceremony. On the other hand, another INDI block member, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee has also announced that TMC party members will be holding a rally in every block, on the same day, evidently displaying their anti-Hindu beliefs.
While Rahul Gandhi criticized the widely-anticipated event during his yatra, Karnataka Minister and Congress lead er KN Rajanna compared Lord Ram Idol to a “doll kept in the tent”. Manipulating history, the Karnataka minister dared to claim that when the Babri Masjid was being demolished, Hindus kept two dolls in a tent and called it Lord Ram. Later on, when he clarified his statement, without apologizing Rajanna said, “I haven’t seen what is there. Once I go, I will see and tell what is there.”
Reacting to Rajanna’s statement, VHP President Alok Kumar said that these statements have come out of frustration and disappointment as the Congress leaders have decided to skip the Ram temple consecration ceremony. He added that it was due to the Congress leader’s arrogance that they declined the invitation to such a momentous occasion.
His comments were also criticized by Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh deputy CM TS Singh Deo, who stated that there was no need for such comments as Lord Ram is in people’s hearts.
Thousands of VIP guests have received invitations from Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust for the ceremony. The Trust has made elaborate arrangements to welcome and honor all attendees, presenting them with gifts that include ‘Ram Raj.’
