In a significant move reflecting the cultural and religious sentiments of the nation, the central government has announced a half-day holiday on January 22, 2024, in commemoration of the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Union minister Jitendra Singh confirmed this development on Thursday, stating that the decision to close all central government offices during the first half of the day is aligned with the overwhelming sentiments surrounding the auspicious occasion.
The order, issued to all central government ministries and departments, detailed the closure, stating, “The Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated on 22nd January 2024 across India. To enable employees to participate in the celebrations, it has been decided that all central government offices, central institutions, and central industrial establishments throughout India will be closed for half a day until 1430 hours on 22nd January 2024.”
This move aims to facilitate the active participation of government employees in the nationwide festivities surrounding the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, emphasizing the government’s acknowledgment of the cultural significance of the event.
