On a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a unique environmental initiative by planting saplings of Rudraksha along with Governor RN Ravi. This significant event took place on the premises of Raj Bhavan in Chennai on a Saturday. The official X handle of Raj Bhavan, Tamil Nadu, shared the news, stating, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Thiru Narendra Modi planted saplings of holy #Rudraksha in the premises of Raj Bhavan, Chennai, today.”
Prime Minister Modi, currently observing an 11-day Anushthan until the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, began his visit in Tiruchirappalli. Upon arrival, he received a warm reception from a large crowd as his cavalcade departed from the airport. Acknowledging the cheers and chants of his name, PM Modi smiled and waved at the enthusiastic locals. Additionally, he visited the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli, seeking blessings from an elephant named ‘Andal’ and witnessing the elephant playing a mouth organ.
The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, located in Srirangam, Trichy, is one of the oldest shrines in India, mentioned in various ancient texts. Renowned for its architectural grandeur and iconic gopurams, the temple worships Sri Ranganatha Swamy, a reclining form of Lord Vishnu.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled for a darshan at the Kothandaramaswamy Temple in Dhanushkodi, where he will also perform a puja. He plans to visit Arichal Munai, believed to be the site where the ‘Ram Setu’ was constructed. Continuing his spiritual routine, PM Modi will attend the ‘Shri Ramayana Paryana’ at the Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple. During this event, eight traditional Mandalis will recite Ramkathas in different languages, recounting Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya.
In the preceding days, Prime Minister Modi has visited various temples in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala as part of his preparations for the grand opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
