Ayodhya is abuzz with excitement as seers and visitors from around the world gather for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla, set to take place on January 22. Among the attendees is Shanak Sanatan Das, a German ascetic residing in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, who expressed his joy at the city’s transformation since his last visit in 1992.
According to Shanak Sanatan Das, Ayodhya has undergone a remarkable “development explosion” since 1992, evolving from a neglected city to a place radiating the aura of a holy dham (sacred pilgrimage site). He commended the progress on various development parameters and public amenities.
Sharing insights on the upcoming ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, Shanak Sanatan Das emphasized the traditional approach that will be followed, describing the event as a highly auspicious occasion. Devotees and participants are eagerly anticipating the historic moment, with preparations reaching a fever pitch.
ISKCON national campaigner, Yudishthir Govind Das, added that Ayodhya is on the brink of a “historic moment” that devotees worldwide have been awaiting for 500 years. He highlighted the city’s rejuvenation and makeover in preparation for the ceremony.
On January 22, ISKCON will host events in its temples globally, featuring Ram Katha and Bhandaras to mark the occasion. The enthusiasm is palpable as the global community gears up to celebrate this significant milestone.
The idol of Shri Ram Lalla, crafted by Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, has been ceremoniously placed inside the Sanctum Santorum of the temple. The first photo of the idol, veiled during the placement ceremony, was unveiled on Thursday, adding to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming ceremony.
Recognizing the significance of the event, the Centre has declared a half-day for all government offices and institutions on January 22. Public-sector banks will also allow their staff to leave early on that day. Several states have followed suit, announcing a holiday for government employees, encouraging widespread participation in the celebrations surrounding the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony. The collective anticipation and preparations reflect the deeply rooted cultural and religious significance of this momentous occasion in Ayodhya.
