Bangladesh Chooses to Field First Against Bharat in ICC U19 World Cup

ICC Under 19 World Cup: Bangladesh win toss, decide to field first against Bharat

In an exciting match at the Under 19 World Cup 2024 in Bloemfontein, Bangladesh, led by Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby, won the toss and opted to field first against Bharat, captained by Uday Saharan. This clash between the defending champions, Bharat, and the 2020 champions, Bangladesh, promises to be a thrilling start to the tournament for both teams.

One player to watch out for in the Bharat squad is Arshin Kulkarni, a dynamic fast-bowling all-rounder known for his powerful batting. In his last five innings for India U19, Kulkarni has showcased his prowess by scoring 206 runs at an impressive average of 51.50, including two half-centuries. His T20 performances have been noteworthy, amassing 147 runs with a striking strike rate of over 163. Additionally, Kulkarni has proven his bowling skills, securing five wickets in ODIs and four wickets in T20s.

Uday Saharan, the 19-year-old captain of the Bharat U19 team, is the oldest member of the squad. During Bharat’scampaign against Bangladesh, Uday will be 19 years and 97 days old. In his seven ODIs so far, Uday has exhibited his batting prowess, scoring 197 runs in six innings at an average of 39.40, featuring a century and a fifty.

The confirmed Playing XI for Bharat includes Adarsh Singh, Arshin Kulkarni, Musheer Khan, Uday Saharan (C), Sachin Dhas, Priyanshu Moliya, Aravelly Avanish (Wk), Murugan Abhishek, Aaradhya Shukla, Raj Limbani, and Naman Tiwari. On the other side, Bangladesh’s Playing XI consists of Ashiqur Rahman Shibli (wk), Jishan Alam, Chowdhury Md Rizwan, Ariful Islam, Ahrar Amin, Mohammad Shihab James, Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby (C), Sheikh Paevez Jibon, Rohanat Doullah Borson, Md Iqbal Hossain Emmon, and Maruf Mridha.

Cricket enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the outcome of this intense encounter as the young talents from both sides strive to make a mark in the Under 19 World Cup.
