The grand ceremony witnessed the unveiling of the idol by PM Modi himself, who performed rituals in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Indian Air Force choppers showered flower petals over the temple premises, creating a spectacle of celebration. Chants of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ echoed as devotees and guests participated in the ceremony, attended by key figures including RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, UP Governor Anandiben Patel, and CM Yogi Adityanath.
Over 8,000 guests, representing major spiritual and religious sects, were invited for the event. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony was a historic occasion, with the Prime Minister addressing the distinguished gathering. PM Modi also interacted with those involved in the construction of the temple and visited the restored ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv at Kuber Tila.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir stands as a magnificent architectural marvel, constructed in the traditional Nagara style. With dimensions of 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and a towering height of 161 feet, the temple is supported by 392 pillars and adorned with 44 doors. The intricately sculpted pillars and walls depict Hindu deities, gods, and goddesses.
At the ground floor’s main sanctum sanctorum, the idol of the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram, known as Shri Ramlalla, has been enshrined. The temple complex boasts five Mandaps (Halls) – Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prathana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap. Nearby, the historic Well (Sita koop) dating back to ancient times and the restored Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv at Kuber Tila add to the cultural richness.
Notably, the Mandir’s foundation is constructed with a 14-meter-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), giving it the appearance of artificial rock. Remarkably, no iron has been used anywhere in the construction. The Mandir complex is equipped with essential facilities such as a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, water supply for fire safety, and an independent power station, all constructed using traditional and indigenous technology.
The Pran Pratishtha ceremony marks not just the consecration of a temple but a moment where the essence of a civilization finds renewed expression, resonating with the principles of ancient wisdom and cultural heritage.
