The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, constructed in traditional Nagara style, boasts impressive dimensions. The main sanctum sanctorum houses the idol of Shri Ramlalla, depicting the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram. The temple complex includes various Mandaps (Halls) and a historic well (Sita koop), along with the restoration of an ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv.
Minister Bhandari highlighted the cultural and familial ties between Nepal and Bharat, emphasizing the concept of “Roti-Beti” (bread and daughter) established during the marriage of Lord Ram and Mata Sita. In Matihani, a 25-foot-tall mural dedicated to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita was unveiled, made from plywood with the involvement of the local government. Matihani has historical significance, being associated with the Ramayana. The Mayor of Matihani Municipality, Hari Prasad Mandal, shared details of the mural’s construction and the local tradition linking the area to the celebration.
The birthplace of Sita, Janakpurdham, played a significant role in the celebration, being the place where Sita, daughter of King Janak, married Lord Ram after he broke Shiva’s divine bow. Dhanushadham, near Janakpurdham, preserves a fossilized fragment of that broken bow, symbolizing the legendary love story of Lord Ram and Sita.
