In a momentous event on Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that the 500-year-old dream of the Indian people for a Ram temple in Ayodhya has finally come to fruition. Speaking in the holy city after the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, Adityanath, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emphasized the historical significance of the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Adityanath highlighted that it was unprecedented in history for a major community to endure such a prolonged struggle to secure a rightful place for their deity. He recalled the challenges faced by ‘kar sevaks’ in 1990, referencing the firing incidents that took place in Ayodhya, and assured that such unrest would not recur in the city.
“Today marks a historic day, and it is the first time a majority has had to persevere for so long to secure their Lord’s rightful place in his birthplace,” stated Yogi Adityanath, reflecting on the sacrifices made by many during the prolonged struggle for the construction of the Ram Temple.
During the consecration ceremony, Yogi Adityanath was present inside the sanctum sanctorum, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who performed the sacred rituals. Adityanath expressed his satisfaction that the dream of constructing the temple had been realized exactly where it was intended.
He went on to declare, “The entire India has become ‘Ayodhya Dham,’ symbolizing the spiritual and cultural unity of the nation.”
Remembering the events of October 1990 when 17 people lost their lives in two separate shootings in Ayodhya, Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the temple. He acknowledged that the journey had been arduous, and the temple had finally been built at the desired location.
In his concluding remarks, Yogi Adityanath lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the world’s most popular leader, acknowledging his pivotal role in the realization of the long-cherished dream of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The consecration ceremony has left an indelible mark on the history and cultural fabric of India, signifying the culmination of a centuries-old aspiration.
