In a recent development, the doors of the newly consecrated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya were temporarily closed for devotees due to a massive rush. The temple is set to reopen after 2 pm. Inside the temple premises, a dedicated line has been arranged for worshippers to wait for darshan, as confirmed by an official.
Speaking to media, Ayodhya’s Additional Director General of Police, Piyush Mirodia, emphasized that the large crowd is a reflection of people’s devotion. He assured that darshan has not been stopped, and everyone will be facilitated. Mirodia stated, “This is not a failure of the administration.”
Due to the overwhelming number of devotees, the entry of vehicles to the temple has been temporarily closed, with worshippers arriving on foot.
Earlier in the day, a significant number of worshippers gathered at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple to catch a glimpse of the sanctified Ram Lalla idol, consecrated the previous day. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony was attended by prominent figures from politics, film, sports, and various other fields.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted the spectacular ceremony, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat by his side. Following the event, PM Modi delivered an emotional speech about the long-awaited day. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the Ram Mandir was constructed at the designated location, stating, ‘Mandir wahin bana hai jahan banane ka sankalp lia tha’ (The temple has been built where we had resolved to build it).
Devotees, showing their deep devotion, arrived at the temple as early as 3 a.m., waiting outside to offer prayers and catch a glimpse of Lord Ram. Visuals showed worshippers forming queues outside the temple grounds, echoing with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ The nationwide and global Indian diaspora celebrated the temple’s opening and the consecration of Ram Lalla’s idol, showering accolades on Prime Minister Modi. Despite the Congress declining the invitation, a few party leaders attended the event, going against the party line.
