Before visiting the Jaipur Foot Centre, President Francis explored the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The President’s visit to these cultural landmarks was described as a wonderful and memorable experience.
President Dennis Francis arrived in New Delhi for a five-day visit aimed at strengthening Bharat-UN ties. The theme of his presidency for the 78th UNGA is ‘Rebuilding trust and reigniting solidarity.’ The visit began with his presence at the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, where he expressed happiness and eagerness to discuss the peace and progress of the country.
During his stay, President Francis paid a solemn tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the ‘Father of the Nation,’ at Rajghat in Delhi. Bharat’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ruchira Kamboj, accompanied him as floral tributes were laid at the Mahatma’s memorial. The visit, spanning from January 22-26, was conducted at the invitation of Bharat’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar. President Francis’s trip marks a diplomatic focus on advancing ties between Bharat and the United Nations.
