Republic Day Parade 2024: Amid fortified security of 70,000 personnel, Bharat is on its mark to begin its 2024 Republic Day parade, with the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the National War Memorial. The day which marks the 75th year of the enforcement of the Constitution in 1950, and thus, entailing a Republic Bharat is emulated with celebrations.
Here are the key highlights regarding the parade schedule and other details:
– The Republic Day parade is scheduled to commence at 10.30 am and will last approximately 90 minutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate the ceremony by visiting the National War Memorial to pay homage to martyrs. Subsequently, the prime minister and other dignitaries will proceed to the saluting dais at Kartavya Path to observe the parade.
– The arrival of Presidents Droupadi Murmu and Emmanuel Macron will be escorted by the prestigious President’s Bodyguard, known as ‘Rashtrapati Ke Angrakshak,’ marking the 250th anniversary of its service since its establishment in 1773. The presidents will arrive in the ‘Traditional Buggy,’ a tradition revived after 40 years.
– The parade route for Republic Day 2024 will span from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path, accommodating around 77,000 spectators, with 42,000 seats reserved for the general public.
– The ceremony will unfold with the unfurling of the national flag, followed by the national anthem and a 21-gun salute using the indigenous 105-mm Indian Field Guns.
– Helicopters from the 105 Helicopter Unit will shower flower petals on the audience at Kartavya Path, followed by the ‘Aavaahan’ band performance, featuring over 100 women artists showcasing Nari Shakti.
– President Murmu will take the salute to initiate the parade, led by Parade Commander Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar and Parade Second-in-Command Major General Sumit Mehta.

– The parade will also honor the winners of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, recognizing exceptional achievements in bravery, art and culture, sports, science and technology, innovation, and social service.
