On the historic occasion of Bharat’s 75th Republic Day, citizens gathered at Kartavya Path on a chilly Friday morning to witness the iconic Republic Day Parade. Despite the challenging weather conditions, fueled by a strong sense of patriotism, people from all walks of life assembled in Delhi to be a part of the momentous event.
Zoya, a young spectator, expressed her excitement, stating, “I am here to watch the parade. I am very excited to see it. I asked my father, so he got the passes.” Asifa, another attendee, mentioned, “This is the first time I have come to see the parade. Till now, we just watched it on television. I hope the experience is good.”
In a remarkable display of national pride, several monuments across the country were illuminated in saffron, white, and green lights to commemorate the 75th Republic Day. The Anji Khad bridge in Jammu-Kashmir, the first cable-stayed bridge of Indian Railways, connecting the Katra and Reasi sections, was illuminated in the tricolour. Similarly, the Bhimgarh Fort in Reasi lit up with vibrant tricoloured lights, adding to the festive atmosphere.
As the nation celebrated, Maharashtra Raj Bhavan, on the eve of the Republic Day, was also adorned with tricolour illumination. Religious sites like the ‘Shivalinga’ at Chandreshwar Mahadev Temple in Rishikesh and Baba Mahakaleshwar Shivling in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, were beautifully decorated in the colours of the tricolour, symbolizing unity and diversity.
In this year’s Republic Day parade, the Indian Air Force took center stage, showcasing its prowess across various domains. A notable feature was the participation of 16 women pilots in the fly-past over Kartavya Path, highlighting the growing role of women in the armed forces.
The 90-minute parade, themed around Viksit Bharat’s rich cultural diversity, ‘Aatmanirbhar’ military prowess, and the growing Nari Shakti, was graced by French President Emmanuel Macron as the Chief Guest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the nation on this special occasion, posting on social media, “Best wishes on the special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Jai Hind!”
