The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) kicked off its campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Thursday, unveiling its slogan “Modi ko chunte hai” (let us choose Prime Minister Narendra Modi). The launch took place at the NaMo Navmatdata Sammelan, an event dedicated to first-time voters, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president JP Nadda.
During the event, the party released its campaign theme song titled ‘Phir ek baar Modi sarkar’ (Once again, Modi government). Yogi Adityanath, in his pitch for the Lok Sabha polls, emphasized the theme, stating, “Sapne Nahi Haqeeqat Bunte Hai, Tabhi Toh Sab Modi Ko Chunte Hain” (Not dreams, but (we) weave reality, That’s why everyone chooses Modi).
The campaign song reflects on the transformation of India’s situation under Modi’s leadership, highlighting the fulfillment of promises and the realization of dreams for a developed country. The lyrics emphasize the choices made by Modi in weaving reality, making him the preferred leader for the people.
The video concludes with a significant image of PM Modi lying prostrate in front of the Ram Lalla idol following the ‘pran pratistha’ on January 22 in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. This symbolic gesture adds a religious touch to the campaign and underlines the connection between the government and cultural sentiments.
The campaign song also showcases PM Modi’s various projects benefiting different sections of the population and the success of the government’s foreign policy. An earlier version of the same song, ‘Tabhi toh sab Modi ko chunte,’ was launched ahead of the state elections in 2023, demonstrating its continued relevance and popularity.
At the event, BJP president JP Nadda expressed confidence in PM Modi’s leadership, stating that the significant goal set by the Prime Minister is to build a ‘Saksham Bharat,’ ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat,’ and a ‘Viksit Bharat.’ Nadda emphasized that only a great leader like Modi can help realize this goal, expressing the party’s belief that India will soon become a developed country under Modi’s visionary leadership.
Prime Minister Modi, connecting virtually at the conclave, highlighted the strength of a full majority government, stating that India’s glory shines on the global stage. He emphasized that when he interacts with global leaders, it is not just Modi but 140 crore Indians who represent India, showcasing the power of a ‘poorna bahumat sarkar’ (full majority government). PM Modi expressed his confidence in India’s resilience and strength, attributing it to the power of a government with a decisive mandate.
