Nitish Kumar has resigned as Bihar’s chief minister today. The resignation comes in the aftermath of speculations and conjectures predicting another switch from the political leader, and his return to an alliance with the BJP.

The Janata Dal chief reached the governor’s office and tendered his resignation at 11 am today. Before that he met the MLAs of his party at his official residence.
Mr Kumar exited the 28 party Opposition bloc INDI Alliance and is set to form a coalition the BJP. The ministers in the cabinet from the RJD will be sacked and replaced by ministers of the BJP.
Both the BJP and Nitish Kumar led JDU aka Janata Dal (United) have also planned their seat share for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
