Redefining Bihar politics on his own terms, Nitish Kumar once again took oath as chief minister of the state after resigning and thus dissolving his government which was formed in alliance with the RJD. With this, Kumar who had joined the opposition to compete with the BJP at the Lok Sabha elections 2024, has joined BJP once again.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Kumar and wished him well after the latter took his oath. He extended his gratitude via X, where he wrote:

Earlier, he informed about his resignation after meeting the governor. He said, “I have resigned from the post of chief minister today. The new Grand Alliance that we created (in August 2022) is not in a good condition. The situation is not looking good.”
Nitish’s new government deputies are Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha, who are from the BJP.
Meanwhile, PM Modi congratulated the new Bihar Chief Minister and his new deputies, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha. “The NDA government formed in Bihar will leave no stone unturned for the development of the state and to fulfil the aspirations of its people. Congratulate @NitishKumar ji on becoming Chief Minister and Samrat Chaudhary ji and Vijay Sinha ji on taking oath as Deputy Chief Ministers,” Mr Modi posted on X in Hindi. “I am confident that this team will serve my family members of the state with full dedication. @samrat4bjp @VijayKrSinhaBih,” he added.
