Soon after the successful conclusion of Interim Budget 2024 on thursday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Congress leaders started targeting the Govt on various fronts. However, a new spark erupted in the Bharat’s political arena, when on Thursday, Bengaluru Rural MP and senior Congress leader DK Suresh made a loose comment targeting the Governent and apparently also called for a ‘separate country’.
After the controversial statement by such a Senior Congress MP, several BJP leaders called out Congress for maintaining a ‘conspicuous silence’ on the matter. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad thrashed Karnataka MP for violating his oath to protect the country’s unity and sovereignty, Prasad said that Suresh has no right to remain a MP when he openly talks about dividing Bharat.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar also slammed Congress leader saying that “this is new congress led by Rahul Gandhi represented by people like DK Suresh” who are trying to divide people with a North-South conflict.
In a shocking statement, Karnataka MP DK suresh not only targeted the Government post Interim Budget but also gave anti-national remarks saying that the government provides more funds to the northern states and ignores Southern Bharat. In a provocative tone, Suresh went on to say that there might be a demand for a separate country.
It is pertinent to note here that while on one hand Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is trying to garner public attention by an event like “Bharat Jodo Yatra”, there are MPs from his party who are demeaning not only the Government but also dividing people in the name of appeasement politics. Last year, DMK minister EV Velu had also disclosed his ‘nation separation approach’ and gave a controversial remark saying that Bharat is a part of the North and they belong to Tamil Nadu only.
