#UCC | Assam plans to introduce stringent rules on polygamy

In a decisive move towards ensuring legal uniformity within the state, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswas Sarma has announced plans to bring robust legislation aimed at prohibiting polygamy and implementing the Common Civil Code in the state. The announcement comes just days after the Uttarakhand assembly passed the Common Civil Code Bill with key proposals on marriage, divorce, inheritance, and polygamy among others.
