Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath are likely to join the BJP, according to media sources.

Madhya Pradesh BJP chief VD Sharma claimed that there were Congress leaders not so satisfied with the party’s decisions, former chief minister Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath dropped Congress from his bio on social media.

BJP spokesperson and Narendra Saluja, Kamal Nath’s former media advisor posted a picture of the former Chief Minister and his son in Bhopal and captioned it, “Jai Shri Ram”.

Kamal Nath is in New Delhi and he might hold meetings with BJP leaders later today.  However, Nakul Nath is likely to get the BJP ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Chhindwara and the chances of him joining the party are high.

The Congress leader stated that if he was making a switch, he would inform the media first.

Kamal Nath told media persons, ‘I would inform you first if there would be any such thing. I am not denying but will definitely inform you if there is any such thing. Many leaders switched sides earlier this week as former MLA Dinesh Ahirwar and Congress District President from Vidisha Rakesh Katare joined the BJP on February 12, 2024.

BJP state president VD Sharma said that the party’s doors are open for other senior Congress leaders who are not happy with the party rejecting the invitation for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple.
