The Sarang helicopter display team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has made its mark at the Singapore Airshow with an impressive practice display ahead of the main event. Touching down in Singapore on February 12, 2024, the team is stationed at the Changi airbase of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) for their performances.

Featuring their signature four-helicopter display, the Sarang team is showcasing the agility and maneuverability of the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH Dhruv), manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). This marks the first time the ALH Dhruv is being featured at the Singapore Airshow, highlighting Bharat’s strides in self-reliance in the defense sector.

The Singapore Airshow, held biennially, is set to commence on February 20, 2024, and will run until February 24, 2024. It serves as a platform for leading aircraft and system manufacturers and operators from around the world to showcase their products, alongside mesmerizing aerial displays from various display teams.

It’s not the first time the Sarang team has graced the skies of Singapore. Their inaugural international display was back in 2004 at the Asian Aerospace Airshow, also held at the Changi Exhibition Center. Since then, the Sarang team has garnered acclaim, boasting a thrilling five-helicopter display and performing over 1200 displays at more than 385 venues globally.

The ALH Dhruv and its advanced variants are integral to Bharat’s military services, reflecting the country’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology. The successful induction and operational utilization of this platform stand as a testament to India’s prowess in the aerospace sector.

Formed in 2003, the Sarang Helicopter Display Team has continuously raised the bar, evolving from a three-helicopter formation to its current captivating five-helicopter display. Their participation in the Singapore Airshow adds yet another chapter to their illustrious journey, captivating audiences with their skillful aerial maneuvers and showcasing the capabilities of the ALH Dhruv.

As the Singapore Airshow kicks off, spectators can look forward to experiencing the thrill of the Sarang team’s performance, embodying the spirit of excellence and innovation in aerial displays.
