PML-N, PPP Fail to Reach Consensus on Power Sharing; PTI Demands Probe into Vote Rigging
The political chaos in Pakistan doesn’t seem to end soon as a consensus on power-sharing has not been reached yet. The two leading parties who want to form a coalition government, Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Bilawal Bhutto’s Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday held a third round of talks, where though both the parties made “significant progress”, they couldn’t crack a deal on power sharing. Amidst this political instability, jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday demanded a judicial probe into the growing allegations of vote rigging, claiming that both the parties were trying to steal the people’s mandate with the help of the powerful establishment.
