In a breaking development, BJP Member of Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad is currently leveling serious allegations against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the Sandeshkhali case. Prasad, addressing the media during a press conference, asserted that Mamata Banerjee and her administration are attempting to conceal crucial details surrounding the case, indicating a potential cover-up.
Central to Prasad’s allegations is the claim that Mamata Banerjee is seeking to obscure the truth surrounding the case by suggesting that her ‘jamir’ is deceased. This assertion implies a deliberate effort on the part of the West Bengal CM to manipulate the narrative surrounding the Sandeshkhali incident, thereby evading accountability and culpability.

The Sandeshkhali case has garnered significant attention due to its severity and implications for society. According to Prasad, the incident underscores a troubling trend within West Bengal’s governance, one that raises questions about accountability and transparency. The BJP leader emphasized the gravity of the situation, labeling it as deeply embarrassing for society as a whole.
Prasad’s remarks during the press conference shed light on the BJP’s perspective regarding the Sandeshkhali case. He accused Mamata Banerjee of actively trying to shield pertinent information from public scrutiny, raising suspicions about the motives behind such actions. The BJP MP went further to suggest that Mamata Banerjee’s attempts to downplay the incident could be indicative of deeper, more troubling realities within her administration.

This assertion implies a deliberate effort on the part of the West Bengal CM to manipulate the narrative surrounding the Sandeshkhali incident, thereby evading accountability and culpability.
The BJP’s stance on the matter underscores the escalating political tensions in West Bengal, with the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the opposition BJP engaged in a fierce battle for influence and control. The Sandeshkhali case has become a focal point for this confrontation, with each side seeking to leverage it to their advantage.
As the controversy surrounding the Sandeshkhali case continues to unfold, the spotlight remains firmly on Mamata Banerjee and her administration. The allegations leveled by Ravi Shankar Prasad serve to intensify scrutiny on the CM’s handling of the situation, prompting calls for a thorough investigation into the matter to uncover the truth and ensure justice for the victims involved.
In response to the BJP’s accusations, the Trinamool Congress has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, dismissing the allegations as politically motivated. However, the pressure on Mamata Banerjee and her government shows no signs of abating, as demands for transparency and accountability grow louder amidst the escalating political turmoil in West Bengal.
NHRC Seeks Reply on Illegal Detention of Republic Bangla Reporter Santu Pan
In a startling development, the Mamata Banerjee government has placed Republic Bangla reporter Santu Pan under a 3-day police custody, initially seeking 10 days. Following a complaint by Pan’s wife regarding his “illegal detention,” the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has demanded a response from West Bengal’s Director General of Police (DGP), denouncing the act as a “restriction of press freedom.”
During today’s hearing, Kolkata High Court Chief Justice TS Shivagnanam expressed skepticism towards the Mamata government and Bengal police regarding Shahjahan Sheikh. “We don’t know if Shahjahan is being protected. However, it seems like the local police is shielding him. Otherwise, he is out of the police’s reach…A person who is supposed to protect the public is harming them instead. That is the impression.”
Arrested journalist Santu Pan has alleged mental and physical harassment, claiming deprivation of medication and proper sustenance while in custody.
Suvendu Adhikari, speaking at the Kolkata Press Club, accused the Mamata government of using Pan’s arrest to intimidate other journalists, citing a malicious intent behind the action. Adhikari emphasized Pan’s courage in confronting Abhishek Banerjee, noting Mamata Banerjee’s intolerance towards criticism and desire for solely positive media coverage.
Addressing the media, Adhikari further condemned Pan’s arrest, asserting that it lacked due process of law, with no warrant or proper procedure followed.
In a show of solidarity, women in Sandeshkhali voiced support for Santu Pan, expressing gratitude for his efforts in amplifying their voices despite facing fear of identification.
Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari pledged to remain in Sandeshkhali until justice is served to all women in the area, echoing the sentiments of many demanding accountability and fair treatment in the wake of Pan’s arrest.
