FIR against more than 700 farmers have been registered for insulting the National Flag. The FIR was registered under 18 sections including deadly attacks on police.
Apart from this, about 700 people, including men, women and small children, gathered outside the Noida Authority and were raising slogans against the Noida Authority.
Security forces fired tear gas shells to disperse farmers at Khanauri border in Sangrur district of Punjab on Wednesday. A farmer sustained injury at Khanauri and was shifted to a near by hospital on the Punjab side.
Farmers from various states resumed the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on Wednesday. Heavy security is deployed across the national capital just to prevent any disturbances during the protest.
Farmer leaders from Punjab and Haryana previously stopped the farmers’ protest on Sunday evening after the fourth round of talks with Union Ministers. Earlier, the leaders had warned that they will resume their march to Delhi if their demands are not met by the Centre by February 21.
Farmer leaders on Monday rejected the Centre’s proposal of procuring pulses, maize and cotton at MSP by government agencies for five years and stated it was not in farmers’ interest and announced that they will march towards the national capital on Wednesday.
As the farmers gear up to continue their protests today, the government has evaluated that nearly 14,000 people have gathered along the Punjab-Haryana border with 1,200 tractor-trolleys, 300 cars, 10 mini-buses as well as small vehicles as part of the farmer’s protest.
The Centre also convicted the Punjab government for allowing this potential failure in the law and order situation in the state.
