In an address at an event marking Sant Ravidas’ 647th birth anniversary in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Opposition’s INDIA bloc, accusing them of prioritizing their families over the welfare of the country’s people.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted that the INDIA alliance, which includes parties like Congress and AAP, tends to focus on caste-based politics rather than supporting schemes aimed at benefiting Dalits and the underprivileged. He emphasized that these political factions engage in politics to serve their own families rather than working for the betterment of the nation.
Despite initial challenges, the INDIA bloc is gradually forming in various states, with alliances such as Congress and AAP in Delhi and Congress with the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP, however, criticizes this alliance, referring to it as unnatural due to the internal conflicts among its members.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his government’s commitment to Sant Ravidas’ principles, emphasizing inclusivity and development for all. He asserted that his government’s motto, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Effort,’ underscores its dedication to serving every section of society.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of prioritizing the upliftment of marginalized communities to achieve true equality. He highlighted the government’s efforts over the past decade to focus on the development of those who were previously neglected, particularly the poor, by implementing significant welfare schemes aimed at their empowerment.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi visited Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and participated in the Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita, where he distributed prizes to the winners and launched two books. Additionally, he is scheduled to inaugurate or lay the foundation of projects worth ₹13,000 crore in Varanasi, demonstrating the government’s commitment to the city’s development.
Overall, Prime Minister Modi’s address underscored the government’s dedication to inclusive development and criticized the Opposition’s INDIA bloc for prioritizing narrow interests over the nation’s welfare.
