Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to be in Varanasi once more, reminiscing about his journey as the city’s elected Parliamentarian a decade ago. He credited the vibrant spirit of Banaras for transforming him into a true Banarasi over the past ten year.
Addressing a gathered audience in Varanasi, PM Modi lauded the invaluable support and contributions of the city’s residents. He highlighted the ongoing campaign to rejuvenate Varanasi, citing development projects valued at over Rs 13,000 crores across various sectors including transportation, infrastructure, industry, and tourism.
The Prime Minister emphasized that these development initiatives would not only uplift Varanasi but also catalyze progress across the entire Purvanchal region, generating numerous employment opportunities for its residents.
PM Modi underscored the significance of projects dedicated to Sant Ravidas, acknowledging their importance in the cultural and social fabric of the region. He also personally congratulated citizens on these achievements.
Reflecting on his recent journey to Varanasi, the Prime Minister noted the positive impact of infrastructural projects like the Phulwaria flyover, enhancing connectivity and easing travel for locals and visitors alike.
During his visit, PM Modi inspected various development projects, including the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and the District Rifle Shooting Range, emphasizing their potential to nurture young talent in sports.
The Prime Minister also highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering women in agriculture, such as the distribution of indigenous Gir Gai cows. He shared success stories of women farmers becoming ‘Lakhpati Didis’ through increased milk production, inspiring millions across the country.
PM Modi praised the Banas Dairy as a model of job creation through strategic investment, emphasizing its role in benefiting farmers across multiple districts. He outlined plans for expansion, including the establishment of new milk mandis and the production of various dairy products.
In line with the government’s commitment to rural development, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of animal husbandry in empowering small farmers and landless laborers. He announced measures to support farmers, including revisions to sugarcane prices and enhancements to livestock insurance programs.
In a significant move, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a multitude of development projects worth over Rs 13,000 crores in Varanasi. These projects span essential sectors such as transportation, education, healthcare, urban development, and sanitation, reflecting the government’s dedication to holistic progress.
Concluding his visit, the Prime Minister engaged with beneficiaries of the Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit and distributed employment letters and GI-authorized user certificates, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and prosperity for all citizens.
