Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a series of transformative projects totalling Rs 640 crore in Kamrup Metro, catalysing a significant infrastructure push for the region.
Leading the inauguration ceremony alongside esteemed dignitaries such as Keshab Mahanta, Parimal Suklabaidya, and others, CM Himanta unveiled a diverse range of projects aimed at enhancing healthcare, economic infrastructure, and living conditions for the residents.
The highlights of the inauguration included the State Cancer Institute in Guwahati, a healthcare facility costing Rs 395 crore, envisioned to provide comprehensive and cashless health services to patients from Assam and the entire Northeast region. Additionally, the inauguration of the Kar Bhawan in Ganeshguri, a tax management facility costing Rs 112 crore, is set to streamline economic operations and support the State’s economic growth.
A notable initiative was the inauguration of a Night Shelter for home and construction workers in Rehabari, Guwahati, costing Rs 15 crore, aimed at providing affordable accommodation and improving living conditions for 200 workers.
Furthermore, the expansion of the Purabi Dairy Plant in Panjabari, with an expenditure of Rs 49 crore, and the introduction of the B Barooah Cancer Institute PET CT Project in Kalapahar, costing Rs 13 crore, are set to strengthen dairy production and streamline cancer diagnosis and treatment processes, respectively.
In addition, the Bhoomipujan for the North Guwahati-Umananda Modular Terminal was conducted, marking the commencement of a project aimed at enhancing transportation facilities and tourism in the region.
With this comprehensive initiative, Assam demonstrates its commitment to multifaceted development across various sectors, reaffirming its dedication to progress and prosperity for its people.
