Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with a group of women from Sandeshkhali, a region where allegations of sexual abuse involving TMC leaders have surfaced. The meeting, held during a public gathering in Barasat, aimed to address concerns raised by these women regarding justice and security.
During the meeting, Modi assured the women of justice and security, acknowledging their courage in speaking out against the alleged atrocities. He referred to them as ‘Maa Durga’, symbolizing their strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
The rally, organized by BJP’s Mahila Morcha under the theme of Nari Shakti Vandan Abhinandan (celebrating women’s empowerment), provided a platform for these women to voice their grievances.
However, despite efforts to attend the rally, many women from Sandeshkhali faced obstacles, with their vehicles being stopped by the police at various points along the route. This led to delays and frustration among the attendees, who protested against the state administration’s actions.
According to BJP sources, Prime Minister Modi listened to the women’s accounts patiently, showing empathy and understanding. He assured them of safety and security moving forward, promising to address their concerns regarding justice.
The women, emotionally overwhelmed, expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s support, likening his demeanor to that of a caring father figure. They recounted their experiences and appealed for justice, highlighting their loss of faith in the state administration’s ability to address their grievances.
Despite claims of security protocol cited by the police for the delays, attendees remained skeptical, alleging deliberate obstruction of their journey to the rally venue. They expressed disappointment at being unable to meet the Prime Minister on time due to the prolonged delays.
While the convoy eventually reached the rally venue, the extended journey time raised concerns about the efficiency of the transportation arrangements and the challenges faced by the attendees in reaching the destination.
The situation in Sandeshkhali, marked by allegations of sexual abuse and land grabbing by suspended TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh and his associates, continues to escalate, underscoring the urgency of addressing the grievances of the affected women and ensuring justice prevails.
