Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, to participate in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ program. This initiative aims to bolster the region’s development. During the event at Bakshi Stadium, PM Modi will inaugurate several significant projects aimed at enhancing agriculture and tourism sectors in the region.
One of the key highlights of the visit is the inauguration of the ‘Holistic Agriculture Development Programme’ worth Rs 5000 crore. This program is designed to uplift the agri-economy of Jammu and Kashmir by providing comprehensive support to farmers, including skill development, establishment of Kisan Khidmat Ghars, and setting up robust value chains.
Additionally, PM Modi will launch multiple tourism-related projects worth over Rs 1400 crore under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes. These initiatives aim to improve infrastructure and amenities at prominent pilgrimage and tourist sites, including the Integrated Development of Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar.
The Prime Minister will also launch the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’, a nationwide initiative to identify preferred tourist attractions across various categories. This poll aims to engage citizens and promote tourism in India.
Furthermore, PM Modi will kickstart the ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign’, encouraging the Indian diaspora to promote tourism to India and act as cultural ambassadors.
During the program, PM Modi will interact with beneficiaries of government schemes, including new government recruits, women achievers, farmers, and entrepreneurs, demonstrating the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
The visit underscores PM Modi’s vision to accelerate the economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir and promote tourism across the country.
