In the latest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated initiatives worth nearly Rs 5,000 crore for boosting the agri-economy in Jammu and Kashmir during his maiden visit to the Valley since the abrogation of Article 370 by his government.
PM Modi attended the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir” program at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium where he announced multiple projects related to agriculture and tourism.
He dedicated to the nation about Rs 5000 crore worth of ‘The Holistic Agriculture Development Programme’ (HADP)- to boost agri-economy in Jammu and Kashmir.
On Thursday morning, the Prime Minister flew into Srinagar and then to Badamibagh Cantonment, the headquarters of the Army’s 15, where he laid a wreath at the War Memorial and paid his tributes to fallen soldiers. He was then driven to Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium for the rally.

Notably, This is PM Modi’s second visit to Jammu & Kashmir in three weeks; as he addressed a rally in Jammu on February 20.
Presently, this will be his first visit to the Kashmir Valley since the scrapping of Article 370 and the split of the former state into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
